Rooted in the land
A thoughtful new extension brings producers and customers closer together, championing provenance, seasonality and a shorter journey from soil to supper.
Set high on the cliffs of north Cornwall, with incredible coastal views, Boscastle Farm Shop has firmly cemented its status as one of the region’s true food destinations. The exciting new chapter of their extension has become a resounding success, with the expanded farm shop and butchery now an integral part of the experience and a must-visit for locals and holidaymakers alike.
The extension, which more than doubled the floor space, has transformed the way visitors shop and browse, while staying true to the farm’s ethos of quality, sustainability and local sourcing. At its heart remains the butchery, a cornerstone of Boscastle Farm Shop for over a decade. Beef continues to come from the farm’s own herd of North Devon Red Ruby cattle, reared on the very cliffs visible from the café and butchered on-site, keeping food miles to an absolute minimum.
Beyond the butchery, the expanded shop floor has truly come into its own over the past year. The additional space allows local produce to be beautifully displayed and thoughtfully curated, creating a relaxed, immersive shopping experience. The deli continues to draw loyal fans with its handmade pasties, pies, quiches, cakes, scones and award-winning Scotch eggs, all crafted in the farm’s café kitchen. Seasonal fruit and vegetables take centre stage, reinforcing a commitment to freshness that defines the entire offering. The café works seamlessly alongside the farm shop, showcasing local ingredients where everything is homemade with consistency and quality at the forefront.
The progression is evident in the café and tea garden for 2026, as they plan to unveil a brand-new children’s play area in its popular garden space, enhancing its appeal as a destination for families visiting the North Cornish coast. Set to replace the existing play equipment, it will be introduced in the coming weeks and forms part of the business’s continued investment in its outdoor tea garden. The addition is designed to create an improved space where children can play safely while parents relax and enjoy the café’s food and surroundings.
Twelve months after its expansion, Boscastle Farm Shop hasn’t just grown in size; it has strengthened its reputation as it continues to raise the bar for farm-to-table excellence in Cornwall, proving that thoughtful growth deepens what makes a place special.
