Rural relaxation

For a group retreat or a Cornish glamping break, look no further than Bodrugan Barton.

Celebrating the great outdoors is what Bodrugan Barton does best. Combine that with stylish, handcrafted wooden Wigwam glamping cabins, complete with en-suite toilets and showers and overlooking 40 miles of coastline, the backdrop of a working farm and glorious countryside in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and your mind and body will have no option but to relax.

From this stunning spot there is so much to do. The fishing village of Mevagissey is within a mile and offers a beautiful working fishing harbour, interesting and individual shops and cafés, abundant ice-cream and excellent food. All this can be done on foot and as you wander into the village, be sure to stop off for a coffee at the Shack in Portmellon and enjoy the revelry on Portmellon beach, where boats and kayaks can be launched. The Lost Gardens of Heligan are just down the road along with the ever useful Lobbs Farm Shop, perfect for buying your supper to cook on your Wigwam’s firepit barbeque.

For nature lovers and to stretch the legs, take a wander through the farm and join the South West Coast Path. A beautiful secluded cove beckons, where you can dip in the sea before hiking up the cliff and onto the charms of Gorran Haven and the Roseland beaches.

Glampers here frequently comment on the peace, the starry skies and the clean air. Many wake up to make a mug of tea on their Wigwam deck, to watch the boats make their way to sea for the day’s catch, and welcome their return sipping a chilled glass of wine.

Bodrugan has recently transformed an old stone combine house into a beautiful studio space to accommodate yoga practise, writers and crafters. Wigwam accommodation, combined with the studio, provides the perfect retreat for weekends or longer breaks. Add in a heated indoor swimming pool, firepits and a barn for paella pan suppers and you are transported into a haven of Cornish rest and play, rejuvenated and ready for the real world when it’s time to go home; creating memories that will last forever.
