On the picture-perfect harbourside of Porthleven, sits The Jewellery Workshop. It’s fair to say that this is not your average jeweller.

The Jewellery Workshop has been firmly established on Porthleven’s picturesque harbourside for over six years and is becoming well known throughout the whole of south Cornwall for commissions, contemporary and traditional jewellery, which owners Clair, Paul and the team combine with unrivalled customer service.

After three years of trading in the workshop on ‘Breage-side’ of Porthleven harbour near the fishermen’s pier, Clair and Paul Pennington managed to expand their business to include a bigger shop on the opposite side of the harbour. This allows them to display a greater selection of different designs and styles, many of which are made in house. Known for the broad variety of services covered and fair prices charged, the pair are very grateful to count many locals as very loyal customers. What’s more, they tell us: “As our reputation is growing, we’re getting more and more visitors returning year after year to our shop.”

Clair continues: “Every aspect of jewellery making is covered in our shop and much of it is done in-house. We also complement our range with carefully chosen items from other suppliers, with a reputation for quality and great service. From simple jobs like ring resizing to intricate bespoke designs with exacting requirements, the team is always on hand with expert advice and support. From watch batteries, to pearl reknotting, from gift vouchers, to intricate commissions, The Jewellery Workshop, Porthleven is the place to go.

Paul and team member Rachel can be found on a daily basis working on bespoke commissions, often involving melting customers’ gold down and creating new, more contemporary pieces. One very special service, Paul tells us, “is the opportunity for couples to make each other’s wedding rings in our workshop. Our beautiful setting makes this a romantic experience that couples will treasure for years to come.”
