Aside from the glorious contents of the exquisite display cabinets, Porthleven Jewellery Workshop’s specialities include remodelling those treasured heirlooms which might be dated in style. Paul and David are able to use their jewellery making expertise and design flair to create something contemporary and wearable, while keeping that ever-important sentimental value. By using different techniques like sand casting, where sand is used for the mould material, or lost wax casting, whereby a duplicate metal piece, either in silver or gold, is cast from the original item, means that precious memories can be worn with pride, forever. Gold and stones can also be re-purposed from original designs and re-modelled to create something entirely bespoke, but just as precious.
