Sound and vision for the future
Since its inception in 2017, the Cornwall Hi-Fi & Home Cinema show has continued to grow and evolve and is now an important fixture in the calendar, with the timing of the show linking in well with major product launches. Organised and hosted by HBH Woolacotts and held at the Royal Cornwall Showground, this year’s event was extremely well received by visitors, customers and exhibitors alike.
This year, the show featured no less then six UK or world-first product unveilings, highlighting the latest new audio-visual products. Among these, DALI showed off their new VEGA wireless sound system and BASIK sub-woofer, and Wiim showcased their brand new Soundbar. Henley Audio had a number of new products, including the Andover SpinBase2, an innovative one-box speaker platform that provides a space-saving solution for turntables and vinyl that still sounds fantastic. Paired with a Project E1 turntable and available in a package price of £499, this provides a compact solution that’s perfect for anyone looking for an introductory vinyl system.
As a newcomer to the show and also a relative newcomer to the UK TV market, TCL made a big splash with their 115” television. Their stand didn’t disappoint with a range of high-quality, feature-packed televisions all available at affordable prices. Monitor Audio also made a big impression with their new Radius and Silver8G Ranges. The Radius in particular is an extremely stylish lifestyle speaker that looks the part but also delivers an impressive sound that belies its size and form factor.
This year, KEF was awarded the Adrian Dykes Award for the best stand at the show. From the entry level CODA active speakers to the brand new and very impressive LSLUXE, KEF’s stand showcase had something for all tastes and had a range of demonstrations that gave listeners clear and simple routes through their product range. Sony won the Special Recognition award for their stand which occupied the whole downstairs of the venue
As the premier destination for Hifi and home cinema enthusiasts in the region, HBH Woolacotts offers a huge range of products from the brands that attended the show and these can be found in dedicated Hifi spaces in Wadebridge, Plymouth and St Austell stores as well as the brand-new superstore in Barnstaple, which allow customers to experience top quality audio in a comfortable setting.
