Spirits To Enliven The Season

Summer seems to have finally arrived at the Rock Distillery, and it’s embracing the spirit of the season by developing some fabulous new drinks

With the opening of four new fabulous shops, Rock Distillery have embarked on even more new products, offering a delightful combination of flavours to add to their extensive range of spirits. They have decided to venture into a new whiskey liqueur journey. All of the new offerings are based upon the splendour of their Rock Single Malt Whiskey, fermented and distilled using single pale malt and then matured in ex-French Red wine barrels at an ambient 21°C for three years. The resultant mix is then blended with Cornish spring water ensuring paramount smoothness and a full malty flavour.

Their Peanut Whiskey Liqueur is derived from this three-year-old single malt, distilled with peanuts. This amazing spirit can be served pre-dinner with a dish of salted peanuts on the side, or even a post-dinner liqueur. It has been effortlessly added to their gin and rum customers collection of Rock Cornish spirits and has quickly become one of their best sellers.

A Whiskey Sour Liqueur, derived from their single malt, boasts a zesty citrus sour blend of fresh lemons and pink grapefruit. This splendid spirit delivers a tantalizingly tangy kick, perfect as a pre-dinner pallet cleanser. For that special cocktail, it works well added to sparkling water or cloudy lemonade.

Next on the list, their Whiskey Warmer Liqueur is exactly that – a comfortingly smooth and gentle drink. Created from a combination of their single malt whiskey, local honey and ginger it delivers a taste sensation whether medicinal or just because! This wonderful drink can brighten up any dull day.

To add to their spirit collection, they have also developed a superb new gin called Almond Air. Handcrafted and cut with Cornish spring water it has a wonderful lingering almond taste. So smooth and delicate that it could be sipped neat; otherwise, just use a very light tonic, or even better, top up with Champagne or Prosecco.

Why not go and visit them at the distillery in Wadebridge, where there is plenty of parking outside or at one of their stores in Tintagel, Bude and Padstow. They have full tasting stations in all locations. Their very welcoming and experienced staff will guide you through the complete Rock Distillery experience whether it is something to buy as a gift or for treating yourself.
