Summer Serves
Rock Distillery is in high spirits as it launches an avalanche of new products for the summer season.
Here at Cornwall Living, we are always excited for summer when it comes to sipping a tipple from Rock Distillery and this season’s no different as we hear from the team: “We still have all of our wonderful sugar-free gins with an amazing dry vermouth for anyone wanting to make the perfect dry martini. Along with these, we have our spectacular collection of vodkas, now rounded off with Rock distillery’s Chocolate Chilli Vodka liqueur. This is derived from English potato vodka co-distilled with crushed Cacao shells and Cacao beans with a picante kick from freshly chopped chilli.”
Whiskies continue to fly off the shelves, especially their Peanut Whiskey liqueur. “Now to crown the whiskies, we have a fabulous eight-year-old whiskey. As with our three-year-old, it is triple distilled and aged in ex-French red wine barrels and stored at a constant 21°C so that it develops remarkable depth and character.”
The brandy collection at Rock Distillery has grown too, but still has all the favourites including the very famous Brandy Snap. Again, to elevate the brandy selection, Rock Distillery has released an amazing XO Brandy. This exceptional spirit is made with Chardonnay grapes from the Sussex Downs, so one single type through the whole process from distillation to maturation. It is double distilled before being matured in oak barrels for nine years at an elevated temperature.
Finally, the Rock Distillery rum collection has grown yet again to 16 rums, including a fabulous new English Dark Spiced Rum which is fermented and distilled from molasses, infused with red cherries, hibiscus, honey, cinnamon, star anise, nutmeg and zests. As ever, this is cut with Cornish spring water. “Further to this, we have introduced three new rum liqueurs,” they tell us. “The first being Hot Honey Rum liqueur, which begins with white spirit from the Caribbean infused with fresh ginger, honey and chilli. To follow, the team have made a coffee liqueur derived again from the white rum base, then infused and macerated with ground coffee, vanilla and caramel syrup, for a smooth rich coffee flavour – perfect for an instant expresso martini.”
Last but certainly not least of the new editions, Rock the Spirit has been released. “This delicious drink is made with English deep molasses rum infused with nutmeg, cinnamon, allspice, zests, chocolate and vanilla. This is then blended with Cornish spring water to create a unique and exquisite flavour. This is truly Christmas in a Bottle!”
