Take the plunge

Quench your thirst for outdoor adventure this year and immerse yourself in the world of watersports with Camel Ski School.

Thinking about trying something new this summer? If you and your loved ones are keen to get in the water, then why not go and explore all that Camel Ski School has to offer.

“We’re proud to be the largest waterski school in the country, and have been recognised as a centre for excellence by British Waterski.”

Nestled along the banks of the beautiful Camel estuary in Rock, north Cornwall, Camel Ski School is a perfectly situated watersports playground. Founded in the ‘70s, the school has been run by Charlie Toogood for the past 17 years. Charlie says: “We’re proud to be the largest waterski school in the country, and have been recognised as a centre for excellence by British Waterski.” Constantly evolving the business, Charlie is tremendously passionate about introducing watersports to people of all ages and abilities. In addition to core waterskiing and wakeboarding lessons, the company now also offers inflatable rides, SUP (stand-up paddle boarding), kayaking and, most recently, wake surfing; an exhilarating combination of surfing and wakeboarding.

The main base for Camel Ski School and café is on the waterfront in Rock, however it also runs a pick up service from Padstow. So, whichever side of the Camel estuary you happen to be on, the school is always easily accessible. Having updated its fleet of boats, it now has a fantastic collection of ribs, making your watersports experience even better. The team of instructors are fully qualified coaches, selected because they’re great at what they do and genuinely love coaching, whatever level you require.

There are plenty of clubs to get involved in that run during the summer, including the after-school kids waterski club, the much-loved paddle and prosecco evenings, wake-surf Fridays and much more. Camel Ski School goes the extra mile by also catering for large groups. Offering great stag and hen parties, as well as corporate activities and kids birthdays, all tailored to your requirements. A truly unique experience is their brilliant new floating pontoon and café. Arrive by boat, SUP or kayak and enjoy a pre-booked barbeque, or just a coffee and snack whilst sitting in the middle of the estuary, surrounded by stunning 360-degree scenery. It’s the ultimate way to end a tiring day on the water.
