Cornwall Living

The re-loved generation

A design-led vintage movement is taking shape in Cornwall.

Over recent years, something has begun to shift in the way people dress and decorate their homes. Rather than chasing seasonal trends or disposable interiors, a growing number of design-conscious buyers are turning towards pieces with history and character. Vintage is no longer niche but is fast becoming a considered lifestyle choice, rooted in sustainable living and a more ‘repair and re-use’ way of thinking.

Reflecting this shift is Casta Blue, a mid-century furniture and interiors shop in Cornwall known for its carefully restored British and Scandinavian pieces. Built on a philosophy of preservation rather than replacement, the shop has developed a reputation for sourcing furniture that was made properly, restoring it with respect for its original craftsmanship. In an era increasingly defined by short life cycles and fast consumption, the appeal of enduring design has never felt more relevant.

This summer marks the launch of Re-Loved Cornwall, a new curated marketplace created by the team behind Casta Blue, taking place on Saturday the 25th July 2026 at the Royal Cornwall Showground. The event brings together a carefully selected mix of vintage furniture, vintage fashion and design-led interiors, united by a shared emphasis on quality, individuality and longevity. Conceived as a design-led event where selection matters, each trader is selected for aesthetic coherence and product quality, creating an atmosphere that feels both considered and visually inspiring.

Vintage and pre-loved fashion will form a major part of the event, reflecting the growing appetite for timeless, well-made clothing over fast fashion. From classic tailoring to standout archival pieces, the emphasis remains firmly on re-loving what already exists, not manufacturing the new.

For visitors, Re-Loved Cornwall is an opportunity to discover pieces with provenance, meet knowledgeable vintage specialists, while exploring a mix of furniture, fashion and interiors that would rarely appear together in one place. Carefully chosen street food vendors and a relaxed atmosphere will add to the shopping experience, all taking place undercover for whatever-the-weather enjoyment.

Casta Blue’s shop continues to serve customers locally and internationally, while Re-Loved Cornwall creates a broader platform, bringing together like-minded traders and audiences in one cohesive space.
