Achieve your health goals with support and help from personal trainer, Johnny Lawrence PT.

Johnny Lawrence is a personal trainer based in Perranwell who strives to help his clients make the changes necessary to achieve a more balanced lifestyle. With a private gym space located within the grounds of his home and more than 12 years’ experience in personal training, Johnny provides a tailored service that revolves around his clients’ lifestyle and how they can put together a programme that most suits their needs and that is, above all, sustainable.

“I consider myself a people centred trainer,” explains Johnny,

“my whole philosophy is if I can understand the person and the way that they live and behave then we can start putting in place a programme that makes it easier to lose weight rather than harder.”

Helen Tite describes what her experience training with Johnny has been like. “I’m a trainer myself and wanted to work with someone I could trust and someone who could guide me – I was going through health problems at the time so needed that assurance,” Helen explains. “From the offset it was clear that Johnny is an incredibly kind and approachable person, and I immediately knew that I could train with him in confidence, and with confidence too.”

Through working with Johnny, you are supported on your journey to achieving your goals and often, Johnny’s clients will go on to surpass theirs. Helen continues: “He really does instil so much confidence in you and because he’s got that faith in you, you then go on to achieve things that you never would have thought possible at the start of your journey… I didn’t think I could deadlift 140 kilos and bench 85 kilos – they’re big heavy weights and I never would have thought that it was possible, but now I surprise myself frequently and I always leave with the biggest smile on my face.”

Johnny promotes a safe environment in his private gym, he doesn’t intimidate his clients into achieving their goals, he supports and motivates them on their journey – whether it’s weight loss, gaining self-confidence, toning or strength training. Helen elaborates: “I think because it’s such a personal facility you don’t feel overwhelmed as you sometimes do in bigger gyms. The private, personal training centre is just ideal for people who are goal setting and are on a mission. It’s nice to have privacy with no distractions.”

At the start of your fitness journey you have an initial consultation where Johnny will get to know you and what your goals are. You’ll then have a physical assessment, after which you can start working towards your goals with an exercise regime tailored to you. “I would absolutely recommend him to anyone,” Helen enthuses, “he’s discreet and such a nice person to train with. He’s not an intimidating trainer at all and it’s a very supportive environment to be in.”
