A new chapter blooms for an exciting cocktail bar in Wadebridge.

Originally known as Rhubarb & Sage and now re-branded as Rhubarb & Bloom, the new name couldn’t be more fitting as the world comes back to life from the pandemic, like the emergence from winter into spring. “We wanted to turn the trials and tribulations we’ve all faced throughout the pandemic and give you all something to look forward to,” says Danielle Stephens-Rickard, who runs the business alongside partner Nick.

With the bar closed, in chrysalis, transforming from one identity to another, the Rhubarb team have kept eager followers guessing on social media, with boomerang teasers and other snippets of the new-look bar. As Danielle puts it: “We knew what we had to offer would be the talk of the town!

“There aren’t many bars in Wadebridge, but there are plenty of pubs and restaurants, and we wanted to stand out from the crowd,” Danielle continues. “So, we popped on our thinking caps and began undertaking the complete transformation from Rhubarb & Sage to Rhubarb & Bloom.”

So what can you expect to find? The best description would be a unique, independent floral gift and cocktail bar at the heart of Wadebridge. There is a beautiful range of ready-made bouquets for you to take away daily, and if you’re after something more bespoke, you can order flowers for future collection or delivery – locally, nationally, or worldwide! But that’s not all. During daylight hours, the bar offers a friendly setting in which to enjoy your coffee with a slice of cake. Fancy something a little stronger? If so, you can enjoy an Afternoon Tipsy Tea. As Nick explains: “We specialise in brunch, lunch and afternoon tea, while you take a break from your everyday life.” As the sun descends, Rhubarb & Bloom transforms into the perfect ‘meet-up’ venue, with a buzzing atmosphere that’s superb for cocktails and gorgeous floral surroundings that transport you to far-away lands – especially during the balmy evenings of the Cornish summer and early autumn.
