The sunshine is coming!

With summer approaching, Katy Falconer, Operations Manager at John Bray Cornish Holidays, shares her excitement about the coming months.

Working with the owners of more than 250 north Cornwall holiday homes during the winter months on maintenance and upkeep, Katy explains: “We always love this time of year. With most of the hard work behind us, it can only mean the long-awaited summer season is nearly here!

“For our team who live and work in the region, the busy, fast-paced summer is what it’s all about: seeing happy families arrive
in the sunshine, ready for a week of exploring the coastline, dining on an abundance of the finest local seafood, and of course, relaxing in their luxury self-catering accommodation. Our guests are able to experience wonderful holidays, and our owners are pleased to have a wealth of bookings in their diaries. It’s really win-win, as they say!”

Katy explains that at present, many holiday home owners are eager to hear how busy the team expects the 2024 season to be. “We’re delighted to report that indications are promising! Customer demand is high, and at the time of writing, bookings for our spring weeks are either on a par with 2023 levels, or up year on year, with many properties already boasting more than 25 bookings for 2024.”

As a study in success, Katy points us to The Coach House near Padstow, a lovingly renovated property set within a beautiful garden. “New with us last July, the property went on to achieve 19 bookings by the end of the season, and has already secured an incredible 35 for 2024. Rockhaven Garden is another great example, this time near Rock, which achieved an impressive 40 bookings last year, and which already has an amazing 34 secured for the coming season!”

With so much demand for accommodation in this highly sought-after part of Cornwall, says Katy, “we are actively looking to expand our portfolio of self-catering stays.” With more than 50 years’ experience in holiday letting along this beautiful stretch of coastline – encompassing Rock, Padstow, Polzeath, Daymer Bay, Port Isaac and beyond – Katy and the John Bray Cornish Holidays team are proud to support their owners with all aspects of holiday letting. “From bookings and administration, to our full property management and maintenance option, we can do as much or little as required.”
