Tracing Your Steps

Travel bracelets that capture unique travel memories one step at a time.

It all started when friends Candace Kellough and Tom Lane where hiking between Barcelona and Monaco in 2013. They wanted to find a way of recording their adventures, and with the first drawings created in a tent near Sa Tuna, El Camino Bracelets was born – its name paying homage to the project’s Spanish roots. Returning to Tom’s home town in Oxfordshire, the first prototypes were made. Made by travellers, for travellers, wearers can choose from a handmade unisex bracelet, necklace or anklet which are then adorned with beads, or Steps as they are known at El Camino, each one a record of a treasured travel memory.

Every El Camino is handmade in the UK from durable and sustainably sourced materials. Celebrating their ten-year anniversary, El Camino are proud that not only do they build products that last but also relationships. Many of their suppliers have been with them since day one, making the production process feel like working with family.

Wearers can now choose from several different colours of bracelet or necklace, adding Steps from over 200 different countries, countless destinations, regions, seas, adventures and the five world oceans. Steps are made from either surgical grade stainless steel, engraved and hand polished to perfection, or handmade glass in exquisite colours, with the option of adding hand-cut wooden spacers to your bespoke design. As each of our journeys are unique to ourselves, each bracelet becomes a bespoke record of a life well-travelled.

“An El Camino Bracelet can be cherished for years to come; a daily reminder of the amazing experiences you’ve shared with loved ones, milestones reached, and sparking inspiration for your next adventure,” explains Candace. “Your El Camino can be a precious record of where you’ve been and reminder of where you’re going next. We can even custom make Steps to mark a special occasion or memory that’s personal to its owner.”

The Cornish brand has raised over £20,000 for charities such as World Land Trust, Surfers Against Sewage and NHS charities with their range of Steps, often selling out thanks to their dedicated community of travel-lovers – and with one sold every ten minutes the El Camino community continues to grow at pace across the world.
