A true taste of Cornwall

Gold for Boscastle Farm Shop in this year’s Cornwall Tourism Awards!

Having enjoyed resounding success at their original store at Home Farm, Boscastle, Husband and wife team, Robin and Jackie Haddy decided to move premises next to Pentire Point, just 50 yards from the coast path, surrounded by National Trust farmland.

“… there’s something for every taste.”

The shop’s ethos is centred on a passion for great quality, local produce, and a love of the natural beauty of the area. The shop and café both enjoy scintillating views of the Atlantic and offer visitors a true flavour of Cornwall, whether it’s to eat in or to takeaway. From the Red Ruby beef – from their own cattle at Home Farm – to a wide selection of Cornish fish, as well as Cornish drinks and other fantastic fare, there’s something for every taste.

It’s no wonder, then, that the team just won the Gold Cornwall Tourism Award (CTA) for Café Tearoom of the Year! Having been shortlisted every year for the four and a half years that it’s been open, Robin and Jackie once again entered the competition earlier this year. To judge the entrants, CTA judges arrive, unannounced, to scrutinise what the establishment has to offer, and this year, they were simply blown away.

On making the decision to move from Home Farm nearly five years ago, Jackie tells us: “We knew there was a demand for what we were offering, as there aren’t many local butchers in the area, however since we made the move, business has boomed on an unprecedented level!”

Supporting local businesses like Tregida Smokehouse and Cornish Orchards, and residing in what is an undeniably incredible location, Boscastle Farm Shop truly is the epitome of a Cornish business, so this Christmas, if you’re looking for a gift for that special someone that holds Cornwall close to their hearts, why not pay a visit and see what the team can offer you? Chances are, you’ll find something that tickles your fancy too, and it can’t hurt to treat yourself once in a while, can it?

Experience

Whether you’re feeling energetic, or would prefer a shorter amble, there are some stunning walks near Boscastle Farm Shop, and if you’re lucky you’ll see some spectacular wildlife on your route, such as grey seals in the cove below and peregrine falcons that roost in the cliffs.
