Cornwall LivingIssue #109

Where the heart is

After almost a year spent restricted to our homes, it’s never been more important to ensure they provide the sanctuary we need from an increasingly turbulent world.

As restrictions begin to ease when we once again look forward to welcoming guests into our homes, what better time than now than to make a start on those long-overdue home improvement projects? Whether you’re improving your kitchen, bathroom or living spaces, or are looking to your garden with a view to giving it some TLC; even if you’re undertaking a self-build from the ground up, you’ll find everything you need at the region’s premier home and garden event.

Inspire your creativity with stands from over 135 of the region’s finest home and lifestyle brands and familiarise yourself with the vast range of services available here in the Duchy. Meet local designers, makers and suppliers and discuss with them your ideas, filling your

phone book as you go with the contact details of the region’s best in business.

You’ll find inspiration for your kitchen, bedroom and bathroom, with furniture ideas, joinery, timber framing and advice from local renewables experts. Need an architect? No problem. Landscaping your garden, or thinking of installing your very own outdoor spa? Look no further!

For many attending this year’s show, the outdoor garden section will be their first port of call. Indeed, after a year spent unable to invite our nearest and dearest into our homes, and with summer just around the corner, now’s the perfect time to bring our outside spaces to life. At this year’s show, you’ll find a number of plant nurseries offering a great selection of flowers and shrubs to spruce up your outside space. Combine these with an already superb list of outdoor living specialists, from hot tub and spa companies to those specialising in outdoor cooking, and if you’re updating your outside space, the Cornwall Home and Garden Show really is a must-visit.

Taking place on Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th June at the Royal Cornwall Showground in Wadebridge, both days promise fantastic displays, special show-only offers, inspiration and things to take home on the day. The Interior and Homeware Market is back with art, furniture, soft furnishings and more, to help add those finishing touches, and to help keep those creative juices flowing, ‘A Bite of Cornwall’ food and drink market and café will also be serving up a tempting selection of the region’s finest foodie treats. There will be plenty of suitably spaced seating inside and out, so why not grab yourself a coffee, take a seat and flick through a brochure or two?

The best part about the show is that with everything you need in one location, there’s no need to spend a fortune on fuel as you zig-zag around the entire county. Not only that, you could also make some huge savings on your home and garden project with one of a host of exclusive special offers – deals only available at the show – making this a seasonal event you certainly don’t want to miss. Add to all of this free parking and plenty of outdoor seating, and it’s fair to say that tickets are going to sell out fast so be sure to head to the Cornwall Home Show website and book your tickets!
