Wild winter

From days of family adventure to unique gift ideas, Newquay Zoo is a must-visit this winter.

With winter all but upon us and the festive season on its way, Newquay Zoo is a fantastic place to pay a visit! Just a short walk from Newquay town centre, the zoo is home to an array of amazing animals – lemurs, lions, tapirs, zebras, pelicans, penguins, marmosets and more – many of which are much more active during the cooler months.

In December, to help get into the festive spirit, you’ll find a free, festive-themed trail for young adventurers to enjoy during the zoo adventure. Keep your eyes peeled along the way too, because you may see some of the animal residents receiving some early enrichment presents!

This exciting attraction is not only a great place to visit, it’s also a great stop for those scratching their heads for gift ideas. Do you have a wildlife lover in your life? If so, the zoo is offering a range of animal adoption packs, where you can adopt an animal for a friend or family member, from as little as just £35 for 12 months. There are ten different species to choose from too; simply head to the Newquay Zoo website to find out more, and secure your adoption pack before the big day.

Whatever your reason for visiting, you can rest assured that the safety of guests, staff and animals is always the utmost priority at Newquay Zoo. To ensure your visit is both safe and memorable, the team’s Covid-19 safety measures remain in place. This means you’ll need to pre-book your tickets and a time slot, which you can do online in just a few clicks.

Open every day (apart from Christmas Day) from 10am to 4.30pm throughout the festive period, a visit to Newquay Zoo is much more than a day out this winter – it’s a direct contribution towards the care of the animals there, as well as the vital wildlife conservation projects around the world that the zoo is proud to be a part of.
