Wine and dine
Tucked away off the main high street in Newquay, youíll find the town’s newest deli, wine bar and eatery – The Bottle.
Bringing a twist on the traditional by combining all three under one roof, The Bottle brings European flair to Newquay, giving customers somewhere to hide away with great food and fine wine. Here, you’ll find a sociable way of dining with cheese, charcuterie and sharing boards, as well as small plates and antipasti to enjoy alongside one of the team’s long list of wines.
This superb new establishment also has an off-licence that provides people with the option of buying something just a little different, to take away with them and enjoy at home – something we can all get on board with in the current circumstances! With wines from around the world, including vegan, biodynamic and organic options, there’s something for everyone, which is perfect for those of you who are keen to try something a little different to the regular supermarket offering.
“We want to make wine more approachable for everyone,” explains Toyah Marshall, who owns The Bottle with her business partner Rob Palmer. “Our informal approach to explaining the wines is part of our charm; we will often open up a bottle of something unusual to give customers a unique opportunity to try something they would not ordinarily choose.”
But that’s not all. Toyah and the team also offer a refillable wine service, whereby you can buy or borrow a carafe for a small deposit and fill it with one of their many boxed wines, which range from a beautiful organic French rosé, to a biodynamic Portuguese red.
With wine inevitably comes cheese, and sure enough, Toyah tells us: “Our cheese and charcuterie range also varies from week to week, showcasing the best of British as well as some European favourites. From Nduja to fennel salami; from creamy French brie to an English stilton, the options are endless. Our cheese and charcuterie boards are our way of showcasing these great products and giving customers a way to try something new.”
