There’s something new happening at Ruby’s.
With homemade ice cream, woodland-inspired parlours and an indulgent winter menu, Ruby’s Ice Cream is giving Cornwall plenty of reasons to embrace the colder months.
Earlier this year, Ruby’s opened its largest parlour yet in the heart of Newquay, with something rather special behind the scenes: a purpose-built ice cream production kitchen, visible to customers through a glass wall.
After recruiting its own ice cream chef, consulting some of Italy’s finest gelato makers and months of testing, tasting and refining, they’re now producing their own luxury Cornish ice cream. The new range is gradually rolling out across Newquay, Fowey, Mevagissey and Marazion, bringing familiar favourites alongside an evolving collection of seasonal limited editions. From Spiced Apple Crumble to more unexpected creations, making ice cream in-house means there’s plenty of room for experimentation – and Ruby’s is always open to suggestions.
The arrival of autumn certainly doesn’t mean the end of ice cream season. Its parlours in Fowey, Mevagissey, and Newquay will soon become cosy winter woodlands, with fir-lined windows, twinkling lights, log seating and a campfire-inspired setting.
The accompanying S’mores menu promises serious indulgence: toasted marshmallow sticks, brownie S’mores, a S’mores Sundae and luxurious hot chocolates in Chocolate Mint, Gingerbread and White Chocolate & Pistachio have been an irresistible menu decision for the last few years.
There’s also a new warmed chocolate brownie, served with Ruby’s ice cream, toasted marshmallow and rich melted Belgian chocolate sauce. Just the thing after a bracing Cornish coastal walk.
And this Christmas, they’re giving you the opportunity to indulge at home. Three luxury ice cream cakes, handmade using Ruby’s own ice cream, each serving eight – Chocolate & Hazelnut (inspired by the classic Ferrero Rocher); Spiced Apple Crumble (the ultimate winter comfort, reimagined) and Chocolate Cherry Cheesecake (rich, creamy and wonderfully indulgent). Available to pre-order online for collection from all Ruby’s parlours, they’re designed for festive celebrations, dinner parties and those moments when ordinary Christmas pudding simply won’t do.
