Winter-ready windows
Get your home insulated and energy-efficient in time for the colder seasons with Philip Whear.
Heading into autumn, we all know how hard it is to bite the bullet and switch on our heating, especially with the ever-rising energy bills. As the seasons change and the temperature begins to drop, it is important our homes remain our sanctuaries and stay warm through the winter. Luckily, Philip Whear Windows and Conservatories is offering a range of energy-efficient glass to keep your home insulated and your heating bills low!
Philip Whear provides top-specification glass, with an exceptionally low ‘U’ value which means less heat transfer and increased insulation. This double glazing, with the addition of a reflective coating, is a particularly efficient choice for your windows as it bounces long-wave heat back into your room. Just as it protects you from the winter chill, the glass also keeps the warmth in!
Philip Whear’s sealed glass units have 20mm of cavity space, which contains argon gas. Denser than air, argon gas improves thermal insulation, especially when used in combination with a low-emissivity coating. This brings the temperature of your otherwise chilly windows up to that of the inside of your room.
Coupling this energy efficient glass with a warm edge spacer bar (the material that holds the two panes of a sealed unit together) reduces the heat loss around the perimeter of the pane, which is what typically leads to condensation around the edges of a window. Philip Whear also offers toughened glass as standard which adds a safety element. The glass is much harder to break and if for any reason it does, the glass crubles into beads rather than shattering into shards. If required, the team can provide laminted glass for additional security, whilst protecting your home from damaging UV that fades furnitre, wallpaper and pictures.
Not only are these products energy efficient, but they can provide you with longer term savings due to reduced energy consumption, keeping the heat inside your home. If you are looking to keep your home warm and energy-efficient this winter, why not get in touch with Philip Whear?
