Cardiology is the care of patients with heart and blood vessel disorders. Part of Ramsay Health Care, at Duchy Hospital you’ll find a state-of-the-art, purpose-built cardiac catheter lab facility that offers patients world-class cardiac facilities, including three laminar flow theatres and a dedicated short stay unit. The team of expert consultants is expanding too, which means more appointments in general cardiology, interventional cardiology and heart health checks. “Our highly qualified Cardiologists and support staff come together to offer patients the very best of care for the diagnosis, assessment and treatment of a wide range of heart conditions,” says Private Patient Manager at Duchy Hospital, Lucy Moyse, who also explains that all care is offered under the same consultant, from your very first appointment through to follow-up appointments.

“We also offer a range of diagnostic tests and investigations to assess the health of your heart,” continues Lucy. These include 24-hour ECG recording, stress ECG, echocardiography, trans-oesophageal echocardiography, and coronary angiography. Treatments include medicines, pacemaker implantation, ICD implantation (defibrillators), and coronary angioplasty with stent implantation.

As well as all of this, convenient, rapid-access appointments can be made on a self-referral basis, meaning you don’t need to get a GP’s referral – simply contact the team direct.
