Our choice of Cornish getaways.
A warm waterside welcome awaits you at Pendeen. Located in Flushing, on the banks of the Penryn river, this impressive coastal abode brings superior standards, thoughtful interiors and indulgent luxury to your Cornish holiday.
A flawless collection of five beautiful bedrooms offers accommodation for up to nine guests with a considered layout of generous social spaces for friends and family to enjoy life by the water.
Throw back the double patio doors from the kitchen and spill onto the generous patio area overlooking the river. This large outside space becomes an extension to the house; enjoy al fresco breakfasts, pre-dinner drinks or simply relax in a sun lounger.
At high tide, the water almost meets your holiday terrace with smaller anchored dinghies adding nautical character. With Pendeen’s central location, wander into Flushing and choose from a number of places to eat and drink.
Whether messing about on boats or simply taking in the river scenes, Pendeen is as perfect for families as for friends, a winter weekend or week long summer stay.
Corner House Loft, Mevagissey
While only for two, one of the first things you notice about Corner House Loft is how surprisingly roomy it is. This expertly styled retreat is wonderfully bright and spacious, flooded with natural light. Beautifully realised throughout, modern and more traditional elements fuse together seamlessly to make a delightfully chic and luxurious bothole. White walls, exposed brickwork and beams are complemented by the stylish furniture and wide-plank flooring with rich golden hues.
Every desire is catered for, from the contemporary electric fire to get cosy in evenings to the smart fitted kitchen. We particularly love the wetroom that leads off the bedroom (complete with superking bed), with its penny flooring and freestanding bath offering ultimate relaxation.
What’s more, Corner House Loft is ideally situated for exploring the beautiful south coast of Cornwall. A traditional Cornish fishing village, Mevagissey ticks all the boxes: winding lanes lined with independent boutiques, bistros and galleries leading to the historic harbour, where fishing boats still come and go with the daily catch.
In fact, guests enjoy a complimentary return ferry over to nearby Fowey so you can enjoy a scenic boat trip across Du Maurier territory. You might even spot a seal or two en route.
Howthere Barn, the Lizard
Howthere Barn has become a popular hideaway for two on the Forever Cornwall portfolio, and it’s easy to see why. Cleverly designed, the interior space is a joy to spend time in; throw open the huge doors to the garden and you have an airy and spacious spring or summer retreat, or hunker down with the wood-burner and a good book and you’ve got the perfect bolthole for those bracing autumn and winter months.
Howthere Barn is part of the ancient farmstead of Kestle Barton – a group of beautiful properties that have been lovingly restored to combine comfort and style. The full two-storey height of the property has been opened out, creating a modern pod of kitchen, bathroom and nighttime space in the heart of the building. It also puts guests in prime position to enjoy the creekside walks, world famous subtropical gardens, great restaurants, enticing art galleries and pristine beaches that this secret corner of the Lizard peninsula is blessed with.
