Coastal escapes

This month, we explore some beautiful stays in Bude, New Polzeath and Newquay.

Bluebell Chy, Bude

Idyllically situated down a country lane in a peaceful valley only a few miles from the stunning coastline, this gorgeous property is a real hidden gem. Brimming with character, Bluebell Chy is the perfect place to relax, especially with the luxury roll top bath in the master bedroom. You can unwind and enjoy breakfast amidst peaceful surroundings in the private gardens, which lead down to a winding stream.

There are lovely country walks straight from the doorstep, or if venturing further afield there are numerous beaches and coves only a short drive away, making this cottage ideal for holidays with four-legged friends. The cottage itself boasts a beautiful light and airy feel, two sitting rooms, both with inglenook fireplaces, and a master bedroom that lies across a separate floor, giving lots of space for the family to spread out.

With north Cornwall as a stunning backdrop, this cottage is a true escape to paradise.

Borlase, New Polzeath

Situated a mere five-minute walk from the golden sands of Polzeath Beach, Borlase is a true Cornish gem as it boasts peace and quiet, just minutes from the excitement of the coast. Each room is meticulously decorated with stylish coastal themes throughout and beautiful, calming nautical palettes that lend a relaxed and homely feel to the property, which has been finished to a very high standard. The open-plan kitchen/living/dining room, with breakfast bar and underfloor heating, creates the perfect place for socialising and catching up after a fun-filled day of exploring the dramatic north coast.

These rooms also boast a beautiful view over the private garden, which is home to a patio and dining area, ideal for those lazy, sun-dipped evenings spent enjoying an alfresco family meal. Upstairs you will find four carefully styled bedrooms, with the airy master kingsize bedroom providing stunning sea views that stretch towards Pentire Point.

With the beach so close, memories of days spent splashing in crystal blue waves and building impressive sandcastles are easily forged; but don’t worry if the beach tries to come home with you as the outside shower and utility room is perfect for washing away the surplus of sand the Cornish coast is famous for. The coastline also offers an alternative way to spend your day as the cliffs provide truly inspiring walks with stunning vistas; grab your hiking boots and head out to catch the breathtaking sunset as it bathes the coastline in warm hues and a touch of wonder.
