Black Rock Beach Resort is fast becoming a new jewel in the crown for South East Cornwall. Just two miles to the east of Looe, where the South West coastal path crosses the beach at Millendreath, lies one of Cornwall’s least known, but most idyllic valleys. Black Rock Beach Resort is set in a private 75 acre estate and is blessed with a rich and diverse natural environment, including woodland walks, a private beach and a typical Cornish valley microclimate that encourages lush, exotic plants and trees.
New for 2015 are a range of high-spec, refurbished holiday villas. Set into the western side of the valley, these holiday homes offer a contemporary take on the traditional wooden lodge. With clean, sleek interiors and floor to ceiling patio doors, each is designed to sleep 4 people. But for larger groups, consider booking an attached pair and enjoy watching the sun go down together on your own private terrace (all have sea views). This place is perfect for families, friends and couples who are looking for a tranquil beachside holiday or shortbreak.
Black Rock’s private beach is one of its most beautiful assets, at low tide thousands of sea creatures nestle in the rock pools and the vast sandy beach is exposed. Because of its gently sloping contours, the beach is one of the safest in the region – enjoyed both by bathers and water sporty types on kayaks and SUPs.
Black Rock Café couldn’t be nearer to the beach without being on it! Launched in 2013, in season this thriving ‘beach-hut’ style eatery is open all day and into the evenings and is now ranked #4 of 69 restaurants in Looe in TripAdvisor.
Black Rock is now offering an events and conference service, catering for groups of up to 60 people, so if you are looking for a venue with a difference, give this place a try!
