We dined in the conservatory restaurant – an opportunity for parents to enjoy fine dining in a family friendly environment. It’s in the gardens of the hotel, so once we had finished eating we mused over coffee that we would have sent the children off again for another adventure before bed. The restaurant in the castle is more formal but equally as child friendly, the staff go out of their way to ensure you have everything you need.
The food in both restaurants is outstanding. Robert proudly serves fresh fish, lobster and crab caught that day from his fishing boat Gallos. It’s a ‘must experience’ as was, what we fondly named ‘wimbledon heaven’, a pimms jelly with fresh berries and cornish clotted cream.
The rooms are spacious and offer quality accommodation. If travelling with children take a garden suite, giving you enough space inside and out (all have private gardens) to spread out as a family.
Star Castle is a magical place for children, for couples, for anyone wanting quality, tradition, character and total relaxation. To share some valuable time alongside the Francis’ family and their team of staff with their enthusiasm, passion and genuine interest in guest satisfaction was a real privilege. Robert and James have created a unique experience in a very unique place. We can’t wait to go back soon with the children.
