A contemporary collaboration

Resin bound surface experts, Oltco, partner with local luxury businesses to great effect.

We always love to hear about a collaboration of Cornish businesses, with like-minded professionals working together to achieve something incredible. One such story has just come to our attention – a partnership between Oltco and two luxury hospitality businesses; The Headland Hotel and The Bodmin Jail Hotel.

The Headland Hotel, iconic for its position atop the cliffs of Fistral, had external resin pathways installed, along with a bridge inside the spa area and infills on the roof. “Oltco was first brought to our attention via our site agents, J.E. Stacey,” a spokesperson from The Headland Hotel commented. “Oltco has created a great reputation around Cornwall, for providing high-quality workmanship and excellent results, which is why we felt confident in the decision to use its products.

“We chose resin for our new pathways as not only is it low maintenance but also highly durable, so it would be the perfect surface to cope with a large volume of footfall from our visitors and guests. As we’re located next to Fistral beach it was great that we could pick a blend which not only complemented but also matched our surroundings, and it’s an added bonus that the blend is also called ‘Fistral’ too. Overall, Oltco has helped to elevate the outside area of the hotel and we’re incredibly impressed with the finished product.”

The Bodmin Jail Hotel, a 4-star boutique hotel opening in spring 2021 which is being built within the walls of a Grade II listed building as part of a £40 million investment in Bodmin Jail, also benefited from an expansive resin courtyard area in keeping with its contemporary design interwoven with the building’s original features. 

Oltco’s Johnny Pearce said: “The Headland Hotel is iconic around the local area. I have personally been visiting The Headland Hotel with my family for many years, so when I visit now, I feel really proud to see the Oltco resin surfaces. It also provided us with the opportunity to hire an extra member of the team and therefore helped to support the local economy.

The collaboration of Oltco and The Headland Hotel and The Bodmin Jail Hotel is incredibly inspiring for us and we feel very thankful to have worked with such iconic businesses. These large commercial projects highlight Oltco’s well-established health and safety guidelines and its reputation as the go-to resin specialists in the area.”
