Whilst walking along Newquay’s Great Western Beach, Tom Stringer and Johnny Pearce, discuss all things recycling, company culture and Oltco. 

Founded in 2004, Oltco is now the UK’s leading sustainable resin flooring company. They also created the world-first and multi-award-winning product Recycle Bound. Having both grown up in Cornwall, Tom and Johnny both saw the impact of waste plastic on the environment and, as a consequence, spent years perfecting a product that incorporates recycled waste plastic into their already existing product, Resin Bound. Why do you love Cornwall?

The directors’ love of Cornwall is very apparent. Despite it potentially making more sense logistically to be located elsewhere, their love for the area and putting company culture first won the day. “Cornwall is an area that has touched everyone in the UK’s hearts, and everyone can relate to Cornwall… and pasties!” remarks Tom.

Resin and Recycle Bound provide a variety of both aesthetic and practical benefits to the home, and with a guarantee of 15-20 years, Oltco is able to provide years of trouble-free service. The resultant surface is low maintenance, minimises weeds, is extremely strong, and is permeable and SUDS compliant – meaning surface water can drain through, as it would naturally in soil, reducing the chances of puddling and flooding.
