Recycle Bound is an environmentally friendly, resin-bound surface solution from Cornish-based company, Oltco, that can be used for drives, pathways and patios. Made using recycled plastic, it not only transforms spaces both aesthetically and practically, but also play a roles in utilising waste plastic that is already in circulation.
For Cornwall-based business, Oltco, tackling plastic waste has always been at the forefront, and never more so than now as millions of people around the world are celebrating Plastic Free July. Oltco’s innovative product, Recycle Bound, is an environmentally friendly, resin-bound surface solution that can be used for driveways, pathways and patios. To date, Recycle Bound has already recycled over 40 million plastic straws since launching in 2019!
The product has been hugely popular with residential and commercial customers alike, especially those in the hospitality and tourism sectors. Oltco is proud to be partnering with leading local businesses so that they can also reap the eco-benefits of the product.
Using the equivalent of 450,000 plastic straws, Recycle Bound has been used to create 150 square metres of pathways at Carbis Bay Hotel near St Ives. Dan Allister, Senior Marketing and Development Manager, was delighted with the end result: “The pathway looks fantastic and to know we are making a difference to the environment is an added benefit. We have used Oltco previously for our resin solutions and we will continue to recommend them due to their professionalism and true craftsmanship. The equivalent of more than three million plastic straws were also used to upgrade and replace the paths and pool surround at Trevornick Holiday Park near Newquay. General Manager, Adam Tribe, is always looking to find solutions that will benefit the environment and so Recycle Bound made perfect sense, and at the end of its life it can be taken up and reused for future projects! Both sites have benefitted from a product that not only looks good and is incredibly durable, but one that is also kind to the planet and sustainable.
Recycle Bound was developed to be even stronger than other resin solutions and so it’s the perfect solution for high-footfall areas. Using the equivalent of 255,000 plastic straws, Oltco has most recently partnered with the Eden Project to lay Recycle Bound surfaces throughout its biomes. The surface is also DDA compliant so it’s ideal for disability access. Not only that, but it reduces weeds, is easy to clean, requires very low maintenance and comes with a 20 year guarantee.
