Fond, festive farewells

We catch up and say a fond farewell to Matthew and Michelle Rowe, as they prepare to leave The Falmouth Packet Inn next year.

Having won a Gold Award and been a finalist in Taste of the West 2017, the Falmouth Packet Inn in Rosudgeonn prides itself on sourcing and using only the freshest local Cornish produce.

Situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, between St Michael’s Mount in Marazion and the local beaches of Perranuthnoe, Prussia Cove, Rinsey and Praa Sands, there’s no shortage of places to explore before taking a seat in the Falmouth Packet’s spacious beer garden, or inside by the fire.

Behind the bar, there’s a wealth of Cornish beers and ales available, meaning your dining experience promises to be a strong one, right from the aperitif. What’s more, the food menu always features specials designed to blow your taste buds away, so you certainly won’t be left feeling disappointed.

It is with great sadness then that we announce that the current owners, Matt and Michelle Rowe are set to leave in January. Matt explains: “We have had an amazing few years here, and we wanted to take this opportunity to thank all of our customers for coming back, time and time again to enjoy the menus we’ve so enjoyed putting together.” Indeed, the pub has racked up some impressive accolades, including several Taste of the West awards, ‘South West Dining Pub of the Year 2014’, as well as featuring in several cookbooks alongside other Cornish greats, from Rick Stein to Nathan Outlaw!

But panic not! There is still time to enjoy Matt and his team’s mouth-watering menus, as Christmas bookings are now being taken. What better way to enjoy the bracing winter weather than with a brisk stroll atop the coast path before tucking into one of Matthew’s winter-warming specials? Be quick though, because tables are likely to book up fast, especially as word gets out that Matt and Michelle are leaving!

Slow roasted pork belly, tiger prawns, spring onions and ginger with a sweet curry sauce – £7.95
