Avalen Farm is delighted to open for weddings this summer!

A courtyard of traditional barns, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, are being restored to create a unique rustic Cornish wedding venue – a two-year project in which four generations of a local farming family have been involved. Formerly a part of the Lanhydrock estate, as works come to a close, Avalen is shaping up to offer couples an unforgettable place in which to hold their special celebrations. The countryside setting provides an oasis of calm and tranquillity away from an increasingly busy world.

Couples tying the knot here will have exclusive use of the site, with options that include a ceremony room for up to 100, or the ‘Big Barn’, which seats 130. The wedding courtyard, meanwhile, is perfect for pop-up caterers and a wonderful space for post-ceremony mingling and al-fresco dining beneath the Cornish summer sun.

Both large and intimate weddings are catered for here, and couples have plenty of options to choose from. Not only are there two spaces in which to say ‘I do’, there’s also a separate bar and dining room, plus a romantic courtyard which is perfect for those all-important wedding photos. In fact, the wider setting is crying out for a photo shoot; tucked away in 100 acres of farmland, amongst rolling countryside and rambling hedgerows, you’ll be hard-pressed to find a more idyllic and quintessentially Cornish setting. You’ll be looking your best too, thanks to an onsite hair and beauty salon, and did we mention that the farm’s former Cart House has been stylishly converted to offer the bridal party somewhere to stay the night before the wedding?

For happy couples hoping to stay, there’s a gorgeous honeymoon suite available, and for guests who wish to avoid being the designated driver, there’s further accommodation for up to 28 guests available at Avalen’s sister farm, Torview (torviewbarn.co.uk), just minutes away.
