Support a fantastic cause by entering the Santa Fun Run near you, for Cornwall Hospice Care.
Is Christmas excitement mounting in your household? Well how about an excuse to burn off all that festive energy and help one Cornish charity make a difference to other people’s lives?
Cornwall Hospice Care is once again holding its popular Santa Series with a chance to run, walk or cycle dressed in a jolly red suit! This year the charity that cares for patients with terminal illnesses and their families, is holding events in Truro, Wadebridge and Padstow, Falmouth and Helston.
The charity’s mascot, Ruan the Reindeer will lead the charge, welcoming all the Santas to each event. Dr Debbie Stevens explains why you need to sign up, “Our aim is to help our patients feel better for as long as possible so they can enjoy time with their family and friends, so this is a golden opportunity for you to have a jolly time in the run up to Christmas and to help us to fund that care. The money you raise will be used to help pay for the support our patients need both in our hospices and in the community. So get practising your ‘Ho Ho Ho’ and thank you for helping us at this special time of year.”
All you need to do is sign up online to qualify for your very own Santa Suit!
Mums, dads, children, grannies and grandpas – you can all run, jog or walk the routes and your reward will be a Christmas medal and a delicious mince pie. There are even prizes for the best festively dressed dogs!
To view the dates (all between 3rd and 17th December) and to register online, visit the Cornwall Hospice Care website. It’s £12 for adults and £7 for children (aged 5 to 15 – under 5s go free), or £22 and £12 (children) to take part in the Wadebridge Santa Cycle and then the Padstow Santa Run that are on the same day.
