Awash with Colour – Cornwall Living visits Sharon Smith, owner of ladies’ fashion store Bishop Phillpott & talks about colour for the summer season.
What would you suggest for a relaxed, yet stylish holiday wardrobe?
You can’t beat the new super cool casuals from American Vintage. Their lovely soft cottons in mint, grapefruit, day-glo yellow & orange tones give a timeless mix & match option, perfect for your holiday & useful afterwards as throw-on casuals.
Which are your favourite pieces at the moment?
Whether in cotton, silk, cashmere or wool, designers have all stepped up to the new colour trends & there is a fantastic mix to choose from. Floral prints by Paul Smith, eclectic designs by Vivienne Westwood Anglomania & the printed trouser from Sportmax are all on my hotlist. If it’s understated elegance you’re after then Nicole Fahri is outstanding & for jeans & the cigarette & pencil jean from the bang on trend J Brand are essential.
What would you suggest as a good introduction to wearing this season’s colour?
Shoes are the answer if you are nervous of wearing colour. A pair of hot pink heels or downtown flats are this season’s must have colour, sizzling coral, will add a modern edge to an outfit. And not to be missed are the soft leather loafers in pale pink from my favourite British designer Sir Paul Smith.
